Collecting Van Gogh

Duration Thu. Dec. 23rd, 2021 - Sun. Feb. 13th, 2022
Special website https://gogh-2021.jp/

Enamored by the works of Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890), Helene Kröller-Müller (1869–1939) came to own the world’s largest private collection of the artist’s work. From 1908, when Van Gogh’s reputation was taking off, she amassed no fewer than 90 oil paintings and more than 180 works on paper over some twenty years.

This exhibition will introduce 72 artworks in total: 68 pieces from the collection of the Kröller-Müller Museum of where Helene was the first director and 4 pieces selected from the Van Gogh Museum.
